Butch Cavendish has a nice warm Americana sound. Part Country/Western, part Bluegrass, part Old Time, this is some true whisky drinking music. Literally, since the song is at least half about drinking whisky in the morning to get over a girl. "Whiskey In the Morning" is a melancholy song about the singer processing his romantic breakup through alcoholism and prayer. Might be a LITTLE more extreme than my personal recipe, but hey, it seems like its maybe working for him? At the very least, him and his band have written a catchy and sweet song about it, featuring a solid array of instruments led by a truly soulful country fiddle.
