The light at the end of the tunnel.
Mark Turner's deep, resonant baritone and lounge piano remind me of the later years of Leonard Cohen, and conjure up the image of a good man looking back on the events of his life. "And the light shines on forever," frequently echoes the simple poetry of his chorus, amongst simple verses addressing Turner's family, his life, and most significantly, his faith. This song should probably be classified as Christian Music or Religious Music, though the jazzy, soulful, beauty of Turner's songwriting seems to allow "The Light Shines on Forever" to overlap into other mainstream genres, and might certainly be able to be enjoyed by non-religious music lovers.
