There is a clever bit of songwriting going on in "late nite cereal," from Florida-based band Fall on Purpose. Non-traditional music forms are used throughout, including whistling, a Mariachi-style horn section, Classical female vocal harmonies, and even beatboxing. The song's lo-fi recording might decrease its effectivity somewhat... but the originality, strong musical sound, vocals, and chord progressions are fantastic, and remind me of Cake's first album, Motorcade of Generosity (maybe with just a little bit of Les Claypool's madness). I love the rising swell of the horns during every chorus, and the droll delivery of the singer's thoughts.
