"Swaying back and forth...a beautiful thing taking me away..." So emerges some of the opening, reverberant vocal samples of "Twist and Burn," before giving way to a smooth blend of trip-hop drums, dark experimental instrumentation, and surreal snippets of echoing song. Black Tar Audio's sound seems to draw from heavyweights such as Wax Tailor, RJD2, Massive Attack, etc, a generation of electronic producers who broke away from the rave model and created relaxing and sexy digital soundscapes for work, meditation, yoga, driving, etc. This family of music seems to frequently sample little abstract sound bites (using old-school "scratching" sound effects), adding to the complexity of the instrumental tracks. Twist and Burn is smooth, strange, and surreal, a great addition to the family.

"Twist and Burn" would be an excellent theme song for
