Strange Devoted Alt-Country
"Let's be one, let's be one, cause two is no fun. We all know what a three is," echoes the often repeated chorus of "Let's Be One," a loose and rough alternative country ballad with the simple subject matter of a Hank Williams III, Son Volt, or Wilco song. I'm not entirely sure what they're after here, to be honest. My mind went pretty quickly to ménage à trois, but the simple and innocent lyrics of the verses make me wonder if this is valid. In any case, it seems to be about love, commitment, and certainly, and is an easily digestible song with a nice, happy vibe, with just the smallest of hipster spins.
