Singin Bout the Revolution
A groovy vintage rock n roll beat constructs the basic architecture of "Talking Bout the World," simply performed on bass, drums, and guitar. The song, sung by the Larry Kane Band from Cleveland, is a cool manifesto for brotherly and sisterly love. "Class is empty, good times past/ People are leavin, leavin fast/ Brothers and sisters heed the call/ Got the love, yeah, to break these walls," opens the song, which seems to be calling for a sort of psychedelic countercultural mass resistance in the spirit of the early Dylan years. The musicality of the song, though, is wholly unique, with a funky driving groove and bright clear melodies.
