“STAY,” the single off Destino’s 2017 EP “HeartMelt,” is an extremely well-produced house track with elements of future bass, RnB, and electro-pop. In a subgenre of EDM dominated by high, reverberant female vocalists, there are only a handful of male singers that can measure up (Chet Faker, James Blake, and Glass Animals being a few examples). Destino Mondragon’s sexy, deep-night vocals can certainly be added to that short list. I eagerly await the release of “HeartMelt,” and can’t wait to see what other gems he has in store for us. “Quit making excuses, babe. I know why you’ve been out so late.
