“Yesteryear” is a very impressive singer-songwriter track with rapid-fire, rhythmic guitar fingerings. Homesick is a talented songwriter, and an even more talented guitarist. The song is gritty, opening with the lines: “And I’ve been here so many fucking times,” and continuing with a bitter hip sensibility that engages and magnetizes. Through it all, he never once loses control over his picking, which gives the entire song a complex energy that makes it sound like a good bit more than a single singer playing on a single instrument.

I would add "Yesteryear" to a playlist called

The most impressive instrumental/vocal performance in this recording is
