"All Praises" is a spiritual hiphop track with many unique touches that make it ultimately a pretty rewarding listen. Texas-based Myrus raps with a distinct style that combines a laid-back (almost lazy) Southern drawl with a richly melodic voice that feels as warm and soothing as a G-Funk bass riff. Myrus is slow and patient in his delivery, which matches the simple beats and piano lines under the track. The Christian content of "All Praises" is actually pretty subtle; in fact, when he says "Father," its not impossible to re-imagine the song as just a son talking to his parent. Still, a few other words here and there (Hallelujahs, etc) clue us in that this is a conversation with God... an unusually raw and real one. I love this track for its abstract lyricism and various layers of meaning embedded in its hip-hop beats.
