This song takes a minute to sink into; in part, I think, because its levels are mixed low and its musicality is so delicate. However, once you drop into RaLeaf's world, you won't ever want to leave. "Make Believe" combines elements of jam and indie rock, almost as if Phish backed up Bon Iver on a hybrid album. In some ways, it brings to mind Dreampop (Shoegaze) with its ethereal, soft, quality. However, it is entirely its own animal; organic (but not quite singer/songwriter), jammy (but without the typical reggae/roots feel), jazzy (but without employing jazz scales). The song's best moments come in the cathartic crash of the chorus, like a wave breaking over you...simply gorgeous. I eagerly await the day when RaLeaf can put just a bit more money into his production, and create the rich and full studio sound he is obviously capable of.

"Make Believe" would be an excellent theme song for

I would add "Make Believe" to a playlist called
