I like Buick Butt, and I cannot lie.
For all of it’s lo-fi production quality, “Buick Butt†is an awesome, experimental, sexy electro-pop track with some edgy female vocals and interesting sounds. I don’t have the lexicon to reference the obscure, indie subgenre that the Minneapolis Maulers are emerging out of, but this is definitely the kind of garage music project I would pay to go see at some small dive bar. It's hard to say how many people are behind the project, since the drums and instrumentation is all digital, and the vocals are doubled. It's possible it's a single individual who made this track. Either way, it's fun to listen to the song's progression, including a rap breakdown in the middle. The hypersexual, urbanized lyrics roll off her tongue in a pleasurable way: "Struttin' my buick butt around/ Back it up till I knock him down/ Slap it good, slap it good, heat my freak on like I should/ oh my, oh my, oh, oh what a lover."
