Happy Electro-Pop
California's humorously named "DJ Rockstar" turns up the happy juices with "New Day," a fun, lighthearted House track combining possible Tropical and 8-bit influences to give you a great start to your morning. "Welcome to a new day" repeats the only vocal sample of the song, conjuring up images of sunshine, orange juice, and fresh coffee. The track takes a slightly odd turn when it builds up about a third of the way in, then drops, switching gears completely from Bit-Pop to an aggressive Festival Trap (or Stadium Trap) face melter. I'm not sure the track really needs it, and it takes an otherwise happy song and gives it a dark, nighttime edge that seems to stand in contrast to the song title. But whatever. I guess if the ravers are properly spun, they probably won't notice the switch.
