Charles David Sharp, who actually hails from Alabama (not Texas), is a natural. HIs trustworthy voice carries his song, smoky and masculine without feeling aggressive, reminding me of some of the greats of Alt Country-- Wilco's Jay Tweedy, or honestly even a little Willie Nelson. This is exactly the kind of a song I want to put on when I'm in a certain kind of mood, and need something light, pretty, and nonabrasive to pick my spirits up. The lyrics are simple and clean, like a Japanese haiku, perfect in their Americana minimalism. The harmonica lends a nice addition to the light guitar and drums. This song isn't edgy by any means, but its universally wide appeal makes it wonderful in my book.

"Another Texas Day" would be an excellent theme song for

Mornings

"Another Texas Day" is reminiscent of well-known artists such as
