Fragile, Frustrated Underground Hiphop
"Don't Sing To Me" is an interesting product of a dark, intelligent, and slightly neurotic mind finding its voice in the rapdily emerging Seattle hiphop scene. DeadMics uses some creative metaphors to sculpt his frustrations around the whining vampires of the underground music industry. His beat could use a little more stability...currently made up of a slightly messy combination of guitar chords, bass, and conga drums. Still, the slightly weak beat isn't enough to detract from the strength and complexity of DeadMics' lyrics and voice, which bears a shocking similarity to underground MN rapper Sage Frances (or at least, to my ears).
