Dusk to Future Dawn
Polina Kourakina has a sort of grit and digital glamor appropriate for the Blade Runner universe; complex synth tracks jogging forward as sleek as a cyborg, carried by the gorgeous but pained voice of a reverberant female vocalist. Kourakina's lyrics are hip and urbane, narrating a sort of surreal narrative about an addiction to nightlife. I should mention that the beat is not wholly artificial; it is established with a rhythmic guitar and driven by global hand-drums the whole way through. This makes for one hell of a dance tune, somewhere near the Deep House genre with a trance like groove to pull you into her gaudy world, a world of endless parties and music, and endless sunrises coming up over the horizon in a delirious repeating loop.
