Dreamy Space Jazz
A jazzy, laid-back vibe creates the foundation for a large slew of technical instrumentation and experimental synthesizers in "A Forgotten Dream," which to me sounds like the application of jazz/lounge music to outer space. Early moments in the music use synth to create an almost sinister or cinematic feel to the music (exploring ominous planets?)--though apparently nobody on the team gets eaten by aliens, because the tone seems to stay light-hearted for the rest of the song. The music is well-recorded and the musicians are obviously masters of their instruments, blending nicely with each other, and soloing nicely as well. To me, however, this lounge song is titled all too well...for while the music is strange and lovely, afterwards, it quickly fades away almost as if in a dream, lacking the meat to leave a permanent impression in my memory. However, I'm sure many jazz-o-philes would have good reason to disagree with me on this. It's just preference.
