Describing themselves as "Dream Surf Psych Pop," Aüva (from Boston, MA) is indeed a curious mix of all of these things--offering a nice, hazy sound that does indeed feel like the kind of dream you might have if you fell asleep stoned on a beach in 1970's California. The vocals are what stands out and defines the feel of the song; a balance of reverberant male and female singers that are at times in unison, at times in a sort of call-and-response reminiscent of the sounds of the original Woodstock (think Mamas and the Papas). I could see this song going great with a vintage psychedelic music video offering plenty of morphing flowers and rainbow fractals.
