Deep Night Blues-Hop
Yes, I combined Blues and Trip-Hop into "Blues Hop," maybe for the first time in music history. Probably not though. Last Chance Texaco, from Denver, CO (interestingly, the current capital of blues dancing), uses ghostly, reverberant live instruments to create a sexy, slow sound that ALMOST bears a resemblance to Portishead or Massive Attack, particularly due to the high, sensual, lead female vocals. However, the live aspect of the song gives it a looser and rougher feel, more appropriate to accompany last call at a lonesome bar somewhere (as opposed to the sleek, futuristic sound of trip hop).
