"Special Lady" dances closely to one of my all-time favorite musical subgenres: Electro-Blues, aka, the Mississippi Delta musical heritage modernized into the 21st century. There are very few producers making this music out there, and most all of them I like. Savannah's Cyterius Swelling layers smooth, sultry, R&B vocals on top of a boom-clunk-boom-clunk electronic drumbeat that sounds a bit like railroad workers or a chain gang...rough, powerful, raw. Add on to this a minimal, funky bass line or two and you've got a quintessentially American song, or I might even say a quintessentially Black American song, teeming with style, soul, and the feeling of southern, Delta-heritage. This song is infectious.

"Special Lady" would be an excellent theme song for

slow dancing

"Special Lady" is reminiscent of well-known artists such as
