Back Alley demonstrates the power of minimalism in their sparse blues rock song "Love Too Long," arranged for only a single guitar and standup bass...as well as, of course, the dripping Delta vocals of the lead singer, begging his baby to come back to him in classic blues fashion. The negative space here is nice, and would command some attention if performed live in a bar (either that, or they'd get drowned out by the noise of the crowd...it would depend, I guess, on the bar).

"Love Too Long" would be an excellent theme song for

a halfway empty bar filled with music lovers

I would add "Love Too Long" to a playlist called

baby don't want me
