Blast from a Savage Rock n Roll Past

A savage guitar line and wailing vocals are the stars of "25 Years" by Cleveland-based Crooked Hero, employing a nostalgic rock n' roll formula with some elements of Garage Rock--especially the call-and-response of the singer to his guitar, and the Elvis-esque warble in his voice. But if he sometimes emulates a little Elvis, his true inspiration is Jim Morrison, with a demonic howl to his voice and lyrics. The song is extremely short, almost too short...I wouldn't mind tapping my foot for another minute or so.

"25 Years" is reminiscent of well-known artists such as

The Doors, Queens of the Stone Age
