Beach Punk from Baltimore
"Joker" is a slamming blues rock number with rhythm, horns and attitude. The backup brass section gives it a bit of the Chicago Blues vibe, though the more aggressive guitar, bass, and drums channel a sort of street energy more appropriate for Southern California skater culture. The Livengood Project's got a touch of the Sublime about them. They play with ska and punk influences, if never actually fully going there. The band's got a whole hell of a lot of clean big energy that would be great for any outdoor festival stage-- especially one right next to a beach. Watch out for a face-melting guitar solo in the final minute of the song.
