I love unique songs. "Tradewinds" combines elements of conscious hip hop, trip hop, ambient and downtempo EDM into a meditative and poetic track. His body of metaphor comes from science and spiritualism (not the typical street-life, thuggy metaphors of contemporary hip hop) weaving ideas together of the miraculous nature of human existence, and willing us all to relax and enjoy the simplicity of the universe. I know this will sound bad, but the main weakness in "Tradewinds" is the fact that Jek Spacerunner is very obviously white, and his rhymes don't always hit the beat on time. Sometimes he tries to cram too many syllables into one spot, or stretches a rhyme a little too thin. However, the strength of "Tradewinds" is the incredibly soothing production (made me think right away of Bonobo), as well as the beautiful imagery being evoked by this intellectual, relaxed prophet of the galaxy.

"Tradewinds" is reminiscent of well-known artists such as

Bonobo
