"You moved out a month ago, give or take a year" runs the subdued, opening line of "I Can Tell," instantly clueing you in that these are above-average songwriters. The singer performs with a wild voice mixed skillfully against the guitar and thumping drums, reminding me a lot of Honus Honus from Philly cult band Man Man. Kittens? (one of my favorite band names of all time), from Wausau, WI, sings about domestic dissatisfaction with a Dylan-esque sneer, sung to the narrator's jilted lover. "I can tell, I can tell, I can tell, I can tell, you're not happy any more." Powerful, smart, and jaded, "I Can Tell" is a truly kickass little tune.

"I Can Tell" is reminiscent of well-known artists such as

Man Man
