Beaten Bored sounds like the title of some thriller film you might catch at a Sundance screening so it's only ironic that the New Hampshire band's track “The Thing” is an actual film title. There's no monsters here though so it's totally safe to keep listening. With sound that is pure alternative rock, Beaten Bored designs a song that sounds like it hails directly from the 1990 rock scene. This is a track that would be among the likes of Nirvana and Radiohead. With the mellow atmosphere that fueled a lot of rock in the 1990s, the front man of Beaten Bored's vocals are reminiscent of both Cobain and York. You might have to turn your volume up to better catch the lyrics but in doing so you improve your musical experience in a song that's disappointingly short but nonetheless a pleasure to listen to.
