Upon first listening you probably can't help but compare Noah Barton to front man Aaron Lewis of Stained though “Breaking These Chains” has the acoustic qualities of not only Stained but also Shinedown and Incubus. This is the type of song you could easily catch on one of the rock stations every now and again without fail. Barton's voice is nice and steady as it carries softly over acoustic guitar. The lyrics are something that could have been written by any of the popular 1990s rock bands out there. In fact there is a Brand Boyd type fell going on here which is a plus. While “Breaking These Chains” has a soft rock quality to it it's a song that it is best to categorize under alternative rock. Overall Noah Barton has a solid track here that if marketed to the right people could land him a couple of gigs or at least radio play.
