For some voodoo is a scary thing but there is nothing scary about Stephen Street's “Voodoo Lounge”. In fact you might just find yourself wanting to seek out this supposed lounge as when the sounds hit you're automatically wrapped up in a feeling of euphoria and all around feel good vibes with maybe a little bit of dark magic to tickle your nose. The opening of “Voodoo Lounge” sounds like Collective Soul's “Shine” which is nice. The vocalist on the track has the voice that one would hear in the 1990s, think Stone Temple Pilots with a mix of Nirvana yet “Voodoo Lounge” has a twang to it that you expect to get from an artist hailing from NOLA instead of Indianapolis, Indiana. The song is true easy listening so you really can just sit back and relax and let this one just play until the end. “Voodoo Lounge” is overall a nice listening experience with the cool vocal delivery to the blues guitar solo, this one is a keeper.
