Sometimes I Can't Feel My Heart But That's Ok
There's just something about Black Barrett's beautifully crafted track “Sometimes I Can't Feel My Heart” that makes you just want to take a stroll no matter the weather or grab the nearest person and break out into a waltz. A flowing melody that is dominated by the piano but never hijacked, it makes for a nice backdrop to softly sung lyrics that could have been crafted for the Wick Park soundtrack. Black Barrett's voice is like a soothing combination between Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service that belongs in a film at Cannes. The instruments are played with expertise and melded together for an expressive and intricate result. The addition of what sounds to be the xylophone takes this track from compelling to absolutely whimsical making it a must listen if you have five and half minutes to spare.
