Atmospheric music abounds, particularly that of the sandy plains and coyote variety. Claude Hitt and Extended Recess have an interesting hit on their hands, pun intended. “The Desert” is the type of track that pulls up beside you with the top down telling you to hop in if you want to go on adventure that you won't readily forget. The vocals are easily learned which means that the track is a good one if you're up for some easy listening. There is a fun type of quality to the song as the music is pretty upbeat even if there is the mention of lives being a mess. The lead vocalist has a nice charming sound to him that works well to the toe tapping goodness that “The Desert” presents. It's clear that this Louisiana band is a band that you can tell enjoys making their music and it is music that those who enjoy the typical rock variety can get into. Don't be afraid to take a walk out into the desert with this track, you'll probably enjoy the air.
