“Sea of Love” is a track that is doing a balancing act in which sub genre of rock it wants to dive into which makes it an accessible song to those rock fans. It has an edge of classic rock to it yet Joe Vanloon crafts music that is akin to Pearl Jam with a mix of REM especially when you look at the vocals. This is a song you really can just play and let take over your atmosphere. There is a calm quality to it but it still rocks without needing some Metallica inspired guitar solo, granted there is one but it is hardly of the Metallica type. “Sea of Love” would be one of those songs you expect to hear in an old 80s classic, more than likely a romantic comedy, and it would be the song everyone talks about.
