“Why Baby” is easily one of Yvonne's stronger songs on SongLadder as she lets out her best Mary J. Blige mixed with Monica. Yvonne clearly has a 1990 R&B soul that comes out full force in her track. The beat is nicely produced and Yvonne keeps up to the pace with ease as she laments on a relationship that is under fire. Infidelity is at the heart of this track and you can hear the emotion in Yvonne's voice as she tries to figure out why men lie to the women in their life. There isn't much of a chorus here but that isn't technically a mandate when it comes to music. Yvonne seems to march to the beat of her own drum and seems to have no problem doing so. If you are a fan of R&B music and artists like Mary J. Blige, Monica and Kelly Price to get your R&B fix then you'll probably like Yvonne.
