A Track with All Heart
“Steel Belted Heart” sort of sounds like the beginning of Aretha Franklin's “Chain of Fools” but make no mistake the first ten seconds are the only thing those two songs have in common. Joseph Tucholski's song is his and his alone. The track has a smoky yet laid back quality to it especially with Tucholski's vocal performance. There is a a very Bruce Springsteen type of feel when you listen to “Steel Belted Heart”. A track with the main focus being on a woman, it has a free edge to it that makes you imagine some rugged drifter on the open road headed for a destination not even he knows exists. Though “Steel Belted Heart” is a predominantly rock track there seems to be some serious soul undertones to balance everything out. Tucholski has created something here that most classic rock lovers can enjoy.
